Our (Not-So) Blank Canvas: the House

Some (lucky) artists get a blank canvas to start with. Most DIY-ers do not get that luxury....we start with a pre-loved house that might need to be stripped down to nothing before we can start anything.

Here is what we started with a little over a year ago, and we've taken it down to a blank canvas (that means I spontaneously took a hammer to a wall, until there was nothin' but studs left....sometimes the studs had to go too).

Our house is a 1991 3-story, 2,000 sq ft, 3 br, 3 1/2 bath townhome. And we (I) intend to gut every square inch of it.
